The goods supplied by Arita Gifts are handmade and produced in South Africa. What started as a hobby is now a cottage industry supplying goods to the public through shops and markets.
The goods generally consist of wooden holders in the form of 16 glasses with the base being octagonal, 12 glasses holders in both a Magen David (Star of David) as well as a round base. The 8 glasses base is in the form of an octagon and the 6 pieces on a Star of David. All these items have a pewter embellishment in the centre both Judaica and general pictures.
We also make serviette boxes with either a heart or a Hamsa as the weight to hold down the serviettes. There is a choice of a plain box or a box surrounded by pewter.
Another popular item is the remote control box made of wood in either brown or white with a pewter picture on the front.
Our magnetic memo holder has a wooden background fitted with magnets that stick to the fridge. This has a paper roll on which you make notes and pull it down and tear off your reminder. It either has a decal on top or can be personalised. The paper rolls are normal cash rolls and are available in most stationery shops as replacements.
In addition and generally against orders, we make wooden tea, jewellery and Yarmulke boxes adorned with pewter.
Our hand-made toys are hand painted with non-lead paint, in bright colours and will last for a very long time. These include cars, SUV’s, ambulances, tanks, tractors, bakkies, trailers, pull-along rabbits amongst others.
